Marvel Studios has severed ties with actor Jonathan Majors following his conviction on two counts related to the assault and harassment of his ex-girlfriend, as reported by ABC News.

Majors, 34, who gained prominence as part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe with roles in series like Loki and Ant-Man And The Wasp: Quantumania, was poised to lead the upcoming Avengers movie as villain Kang.

A spokesperson for the film studio, owned by Walt Disney, confirmed that Majors will no longer be involved in any future projects.

The decision comes in the aftermath of the actor’s legal troubles, which stemmed from a March altercation with his then-girlfriend, Grace Jabbari, in New York City. The charges included assault and aggravated harassment, both classified as misdemeanors.

Jabbari, a 30-year-old dancer, detailed the incident, alleging that Majors subjected her to an attack inside a vehicle, resulting in “excruciating” pain.

Her accusations included claims that Majors struck her in the head, twisted her arm behind her back, and applied enough pressure to fracture her middle finger.

The verdict, delivered by the jury, reflects a nuanced perspective. While Majors was found guilty of recklessly assaulting his ex-girlfriend, the jury did not believe he acted with intent.
